Preparatory action - Bottom-up Policy Development for Culture & Well-being in the EU

Creative Europe

2021

The preparatory action ‘Bottom-up Policy Development for Culture & Well-being in the EU’ aims to:

  • facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and success stories within the European Union (EU) related to the role of culture for well-being and health;

  • map the most relevant existing practices in this regard, including those that are financed by European programmes;

  • improve the capacity of local actors to effectively benefit from culture as a means to increase well-being and health, with a special focus on mental health;

  • carry out small-scale pilot work on the ground concerning means of cooperating across sectors to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities;

  • establish and explore synergies between existing policies and programmes, as well as past, ongoing and planned actions – in particular those at the EU level – but also local, (macro-)regional and national initiatives.

Co-financing of public procurement of innovation consortia

EC - EASME - COSME

2021

This call for proposals contributes to the second COSME objective: “access to markets”.
In particular, this action recognises that the public sector can play a large role in helping companies, and in particular SMEs, overcome a well-known market failure: finding a first group of customers for their innovative products and services.
Thus, this calls for proposals intends to improve European SMEs’ access to the Union market in the area of Public Procurement of Innovation PPI.
Public Procurement of innovation (PPI) happens when the public sector uses its purchasing power to act as early adopter of innovative solutions which are not yet available on large scale commercial basis.

EIC Accelerator Open 2021

EC - HORIZON EUROPE

2021

The EIC Accelerator supports companies (principally start-ups and SMEs) to scale up high impact innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones. The EIC Accelerator provides a unique combination of funding from EUR 0.5 to EUR 17.5 million and Business Acceleration Services (see Chapter V of the EIC Work Programme 2021).

The EIC Accelerator focuses in particular on innovations building on scientific discovery or technological breakthroughs (‘deep tech’) and where significant funding is needed over a long timeframe before returns can be generated (‘patient capital’). Such innovations often struggle to attract financing because the risks and time period involved are too high. Funding and support from the EIC Accelerator is designed to enable such innovators to attract the full investment amounts needed for scale up in a shorter timeframe.

The EIC Accelerator is open to innovations in any field of technology or application. However, innovations that harm the environment or social welfare or that are designed primarily for military applications will not be supported.
